Which room is it for?
Beyond 150 inches, a standard motorized surface eventually ripples: the weight of the bottom bar is no longer enough to tension it. The Nova S+ tab-tension mechanism pulls it sideways and keeps a perfectly flat surface up to 220 inches. Its grey surface also strengthens contrast, offsetting the drop in brightness inherent to very large diagonals.
Installation checklist
- Heavier and longer case than a standard motorized screen: check wall or ceiling load capacity.
- Allow lateral clearance for the tensioning mechanism on each side of the surface.
- Grey surface: a projector with brightness to spare is recommended at large diagonals.
- 220 V supply and wireless control, as on the Cinema Nova.
Frequently asked questions
Is tab-tensioning really necessary?
Below 120 inches, rarely. Beyond that, ripples become visible on bright scenes and tracking shots — that is where the mechanism earns its place.
Why a grey surface rather than white?
It lowers the black level and strengthens perceived contrast, valuable on very large surfaces where light scatters more around the room.
